Video seminars: Sustainable innovation ecosystems and the city as an arena for innovation (in Swedish)

A lot happened in DigitalWell Arena's ecosystem between 12 and 13 June. As part of our DigitalWell Award ceremony, several additional seminars were also organised. Here you can watch two of them after the fact.

Seminar 1: Commons and Innovation Ecosystems

Inspired by Elinor Ostrom’s groundbreaking research on commons and Jason Potts’ research on innovation commons, this seminar explores how commons can stimulate and support innovation ecosystems. The seminar was held on 13 June in collaboration between DigitalWell Arena, Vinnova, and Region Värmland, and presents the results of an extensive pre-study. The focus is on the important role that public initiatives play in promoting and developing commons – ensuring that these resources are not only established but also continuously improved and actively used to promote innovation.

Seminar 2: The City as an Arena for Innovation

Karlstad Municipality and the ecosystem around DigitalWell Arena have been recognised as one of Sweden’s most innovative environments for using the city as an arena for innovation. On 12 June, we hosted a seminar to share insights on this development. The seminar focused on three main aspects:

  • Public procurement as a driver of innovation – policy and practice
  • The city as an arena for innovation, then and now
  • The AI revolution as an enabler for innovation ecosystems
