Open City soon ready to launch in Trollhättan

Open City is reaching new users! The digital guide for people with cognitive challenges will soon also be available in Trollhättan.

Open City was launched in Karlstad municipality in October 2024 to make the city’s range of activities more inclusive. So far, the service has reached around 400 users.

Open City is the result of Karlstad’s second procurement, carried out with the support of the Demand Acceleration framework. The framework has been developed within DigitalWell Arena and enables the public sector to use procurement to drive innovation processes. Rather than specifying requirements for a ready-made solution, an innovation collaboration is procured, in which multiple companies can participate.

A collaboration where companies take the service forward

We Know It was the company ultimately awarded the development contract to shape the solution – Open City – that was considered the best match for Karlstad’s needs. The company also owns and manages the service, enabling it to be disseminated to more customers and developed over time.

“We Know It and Karlstad have done a fantastic job of developing the service together, so it is gratifying that Trollhättan also sees potential in how it can improve quality of life for people with cognitive challenges,” says Carolin Maule, Innovation Manager at DigitalWell Arena, who provided process facilitation for Karlstad’s procurement.
